The program is held after school and weekends. Specific training classes are linked to the featured art exhibit(s). The goal of the program is to provide young people an introduction to art. Since the docent’s classes are structured around the featured exhibit, the students learn in-depth knowledge about a specific artist(s), the technics used to create the pieces, an appreciation of art, and improved communication and research skills. At its best, we experience a multi-generational exchange that allows the adult mentors students to enjoy a cultural richness with a youthful perspective.
